This institute was founded by Respected Dr.V.H.Dave on the blessings of Guru to spread awareness of Homoeopathy on 2nd July 1973 on the auspicious day of Rathyatra and as reverence to founder of homoeopathy Dr. Samuel Hahnemann on his Death Anniversary. It began its mission by starting the Homoeopathic Dispensary where stalwarts of Homoeopathy rendered their services. His vision created the College; second-one in Gujarat state so as to spread awareness of Homoeopathy through educating the younger generation and producing more and more Homoeopaths who will spread Homoeopathy all over India. In 2000, one more feather was added in cap when the institute was granted permission to conduct Postgraduate course; the very first College in Gujarat state.
The Institute is Alma Mater of 908 D.H.M.S. Doctors, 2000 B.H.M.S. Doctors and 280 Post-graduates. Every year at least one or more students are achieving the first three positions in the University examinations. Many of the students are serving as academicians all over India. In Gujarat, many of our alumni are appointed as Principals. Many of our alumni are serving the community as doctors in the RBSK, Government Homoeopathic dispensaries, CHCs and PHCs.
Institute is running successfully 7 Peripheral OPDs to reach to the grass root level who are deprived of the medical services and are unaware of efficacy of Homoeopathy. The central OPD serves nearly 80,000 patients annually. It also serves nearly 2500 patients on the IPD basis. It provides the services like Physiotherapy, Yoga, Dental, X-ray, Sonography and Clinical Laboratory on no-profit-no-loss basis especially to the deprived community.
College is not only encouraging students for their academic development but also for overall personality development. Last year the team of girls became University Champion in Inter-collegiate Chess Competition. We experienced a great pride when one of our students represented Sardar Patel University in Inter-university Rifle Shooting Competition (women) and other one won Bronze medal in National Karate Competition. Two of our students also represented Sardar Patel University in Inter-university Chess Competition. Every year Indoor and outdoor Sports competitions are arranged in which students are encouraged to show their sportsmanship. In the annual day they show their artistic acumen.

We are extremely pleased to announce that we are celebrating Silver Jubilee Year of P.G. Course of our Institute. It was the proud moment for all the present and past family members of Dr.V.H.Dave Homoeopathic Medical College and S.I.Patel (I) Homoeopathic Medical Hospital celebrated the Golden Jubilee of our Institute during the year 2022-23.
This year this institute has been awarded A+ by the QCI and NEBT assessment.
